30-Year Fixed Rate Still Below 5 Percent for Third Consecutive Week

Freddie Mac  released the results of its Primary Mortgage Market Survey®  in which the 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 4.92 percent ending October 15, 2009, up from last week when it averaged 4.87 percent.

Last year at this time, the 30-year rate averaged 6.46 percent.
