Using the Slow Season to Prepare for 2010

It's no coincidence, or surprise, that as holiday shopping speeds up, home sales are slowing down. Additionally, while it remains a buyer's market, lenders continue to be stringent with their mortgage policies, adding to the home sales woes. So, should you fight the trend, or just give in and surrender to the season?

"Typically this time of year, sales slow down. When looking at single family sales, the rate has leveled off foe the last three months,. However, the multi-family and investment property absorptions rates are still bouncing up and down. I believe this may be partly due to the fact that many people are still reeling from the drop in prices across the nation and many are wary about investing in rental property.

Regarding the season, now is a great time for REALTORS (R) to get cranking and work on their goals for 2010. Those that are still working on their business will have a strong January and February."

Don't let the charts, trends, and sloping sales discourage you. Use this slower period and take full advantage of it. Prepare now to get a jump on 2010, and expect strong sales for the start of the New Year.
