Walker, a true piece of Minnesota's "Up North".

Downtown Walker is set on the shores of the area's main attraction, Leech Lake.  At over 112,000 acres, Leech Lake is the third largest body of water in Minnesota and is well known as one of the state's premier walleye and muskie fisheries.  This pristine body of water reaches 150 feet deep and is surrounded by national forest, equating to woods and water as far as the eye can see on the majority of the lake.  Approximately 65% of the shoreline is government land.  Don't expect this lake to get "busy" on the weekends the way other Minnesota lakes do. In fact, the low traffic and the size of the lake makes it a favorite choice for Minnesota lake shore buyers who are looking for a place to land and dock their seaplanes. Sailboat enthusiasts also hold a special appreciation for the enormity of Leech Lake.  Walker, MN has many activities to offer.  Besides great fishing and every on-the-water activity imaginable, the family can enjoy biking, hiking, golfing, and great small-town shopping in quaint downtown Walker. Or hit Charlie's Up North for dinner, and maybe a short visit to Northern Lights Casino if you're the type.

Walker and the surrounding area is rich in Minnesota history as well.
