Selma's Ice Cream Parlour is for sale!

From the time I was a little girl, every fall my mom would pack my brother and me up in the car and drive to Afton to get ice cream at Selma’s Ice Cream Parlour.  We would undoubtedly get lost every time as my mom never remembered the way, but we always made it for a double scoop of butter brickle in a “candy” cone. The leaves had all turned colors, the playground down the street, the adorable little shops in the area and the friendly people that worked at Selma’s…  it’s memories like these I cherish and remember.

Selma’s  was originally owned by  Selma Holberg who dished ice cream from approximately 1930 until the day she died in 1966, just a few years before I was born.   The last owner opened a sandwich shop that failed.   I haven’t been back in quite a few years so am not sure why the business wasn’t successful.  The property is back on the market for less than $300,000!  I hope the new owners can build it back to the lovely place it once was!
