Annandale calls itself the “The Heart of the Lakes” with good reason. For nearly 100 years this farming community, surrounded by more than twenty recreational lakes, has been host to tourists seeking refuge from the city and city heat. With a mere forty-five-minute commute to the Twin Cities, it’s no surprise that Annandale’s population doubles when summer is in full swing. And with that brief commute, Annandale can offer the best of both worlds—small town living and city access—not to mention four golf courses and a summer farmer’s market. Annandale also boasts its own newspaper, the Annandale Advocate, in continued circulation since 1888.
