Ride for the Greenway

Are you a bike rider? Do you bike for fun or fitness? Apple Valley is sponsoring a “Ride for the Greenway” event. This will be held on May 20th, 2012. This is to support a bike-friendly Apple Valley and to show how easy it is to move around the city by bike. This ride will start at the Minnesota Zoo in the east parking lot (McAndrews entrance) at 12 noon and also end at the zoo. The nice greenways and the bicycle-friendly, "south of the river cities," Apple Valley and Rosemount, will be showcased and promoted during the ride. This year they will have two routes for people to ride. One is a family friendly route while the other route is for more experienced bikers. Snacks will be given before the ride, at the rest-stop in Rosemount and at the end of the ride. The family-friendly route is 12 miles on paved trails while the more experienced route is 30 miles on roads and trails. Helmets are required for all riders! Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult!

Pre-Register by May 13th, 2012 and the cost of the event will be $9.00 for individuals and $15.00 for a family. Plus, all that pre-register will receive a swag bag with many fun items and treats to take home!

Register after May 13th, 2012 and the cost of the event will be $12.00 for individuals and $20.00 for a family.
