Looking for fun indoor activities for the kids this winter? Maple Grove’s community center has some unique offerings:

The Grove Cove – Aquatic Center: This features an indoor and outdoor pool. This time of year, the indoor pool is the place to be with the zero-depth beach area, water spray activities and the 130-foot waterside and tot slide. There is also a lap pool with 25-yard lanes and a rope swing.

Maple Maze Indoor Playground: This is mainly for children ages 12 and under. This maze has multiple routes, slides and a rock wall. There is also a special area for toddlers.

Ice Arena: They have Olympic sized rinks where open skating, adult open hockey, low test freestyle skating and skating lessons are available.

Teen Center: Teens can play pool, air hockey, video games or card games. They can listen to music, watch TV on the big screen or play Wii. This is more for the older kids in grades 7-12.

Gymnasium: Check out the city’s monthly gym schedule to find out when drop-in basketball is available. They do have 6 hoops and a small supply of basketballs on hand. Just be sure to bring your picture ID when borrowing a basketball or other equipment.
