The Bryn Mawr neighborhood enjoys the distinction of being surrounded by green spaces: on the north and west is Theodore Wirth Park, the largest regional park in the Minneapolis system with 759 acres of lake, fishing pier, playground, picnic facilities, trails, clubhouse and golf course; on the north is Bassett's Creek, a 70- acre park whose creek runs from Medicine Lake in Plymouth to the Mississippi River in downtown Minneapolis; on the east is the 51-acre Bryn Mawr Meadows; and on the south is Cedar Lake Park, 288 acres of park and water offering sandy beaches, a fishing dock and canoe launch. Cedar Lake is part of the renowned Minneapolis Chain of Lakes.
Bryn Mawr derives its name from its elementary school and community park and means "big hill" in the Welsh language. It is located just to the west of downtown Minneapolis and its homes offer a diverse selection of styles. Its residents have easy access to the many cultural opportunities, sports venues, restaurants and shopping available in the downtown area.
