With the mighty Mississippi River as its long eastern boundary, the Longfellow community is home to five popular Minneapolis neighborhoods: Seward, Longfellow, Cooper, Howe and Hiawatha. With Interstate 94 as its northern boundary, the area runs south along Hiawatha Avenue on the west to 54th Street East. The community’s crown jewel is beautiful Minnehaha Park, 193 acres of trees, lawns, walking paths, and the renowned 53-foot Minnehaha Falls. Thousands of visitors annually enjoy concerts, picnics, wading pool, volleyball court, and the very popular Sea Salt Eatery, open from April to October. Residents of the Longfellow community can take advantage of the Twin Cities light-rail line on Hiawatha Avenue for quick and convenient access to downtown Minneapolis, MSP International Airport and the Mall of America.
