In 1853, the first private sawmill west of the Mississippi River began sawing logs in what is known today as Minnetonka Mills. While the sawmills and flour mills are long since gone, what remains today is a growing, thriving community within the cities of Minnetonka and Hopkins. So why should you choose Minnetonka Mills as a place to settle in and buy a home? Read on!
Minnetonka Mills is within the award-winning Hopkins School District #270. This public school district contains about 7,700 students, servicing the city of Hopkins, most of Minnetonka, about half of Golden Valley, and portions of Eden Prairie, Edina, Plymouth and St. Louis Park. For the sixth consecutive year, Hopkins High School was ranked among the top 5 percent of high schools in the nation.
