Neighborhood Information

The West Side neighborhood of St. Paul is just south of and across the Mississippi River from the downtown area. It derives its name from its location on the west bank of the river, but is nearly surrounded by it on its north, east, and west sides, with Annapolis Street forming its southern boundary. True to its historic immigrant roots, the area continues to offer a rich diversity in its commercial areas. The residences in this area are primarily single-family homes constructed in the Craftsman and Victorian styles in the period from 1880-1920 with a mix of more modern single-family homes and apartment buildings throughout.
