Winter 2012, A Great Time to Sell!
Yes, it's only the second week of the year! We're supposed to be stepping over snow drifts, not taking carefree walks around the lakes. This is a unique year!
Remember when you decided last fall that maybe this spring or summer, you would sell your home and go find that dream property, or maybe a smaller place now that the kids are finally off to college. Well guess what; the supply of homes has dwindled to levels we haven't seen in many years. This past weekend the phones in real estate offices were ringing off the hook with requests to see those few homes available. Buyers were out looking at open houses; they couldn't wait to get out; no Vikings games to distract them!
No one can predict how the market will look in three to six months, but yes, now is a very good time to have your home "For Sale". Record low interest rates and good home prices have increased the activity of buyers; demand for homes is rising! Sales have been increasing for several months while supplies of homes keep decreasing; a good trend for sellers.
