The "Art & All That Jazz" Festival will take place in Burnsville on Sat Aug 20th. Mick Sterling is set to headline the event with his band the Irresistibles. The festival will feature local musicians, food booths, a jurried art fair, as well as beer and liquour concessions.

The City of Lakeville will be rehabbing the Old Police Station. Bidding is underway for the project. The 17,000 square foot building will provide space for three local community groups including the City Historical Society, and the Yellow Ribbon Group which works with returning veterans.
The Medieval Fair is scheduled to take place at Caponi Art Park in Eagan on Sept 25th from 11-5:00. Within the wooded setting of the park you will find storytellers, dancing, bone carving, jugglers, cooking, period games and other arts and skills. The event is free, and there will be mini donuts, hot & cold drinks & snow cones for sale. A $4 donation to the park is suggested.

The city of Lakeville is developing a strategy to market itself to businesses. They will be working with Arnett Muldrow & Associates LTD to create a plan. The system will be marketed to the Twin Cities as a whole, and will be implemented throughout 2012. The goal is to have as many feasible projects occur in the community as possible.
