With the addition of the Chicago Great Western Railroad in 1855, the settlement grew into a popular stop along the route. The community was incorporated into the Village of Cannon Falls in 1874, allowing for more organized government and better infrastructure. In 1905, Cannon Falls officially adopted its city charter, cementing its status. This charming river town has expanded and modernized over the years, while maintaining itā€™s small town, historic charm. Today, Cannon Falls is the thriving community of just over 4,000 residents.
