City History

The town is named after the four Foley brothers – lumber barons from Ontario who moved to the area in late 19th century. The lumber business boomed, and along with it, stores and other types of businesses popped up to supply workers with much needed supplies. In the decades since that time, the area has transitioned from a wood-based economy to a farming economy.
