Delano Public Schools, district #879, provides for all of the educational needs of Loretto residents. This district is known for several Blue Ribbon and Five Star Schools, and consistently surpasses state and national averages on tests including the ACT.
Transit Link provides for the public transportation needs of Loretto residents. This fee-based service is available to any resident upon scheduling request for medical appointments, shopping trips, commutes, and more.
A five-member City Council presides over Loretto’s internal operations. This council consists of the Mayor and four councilmembers and meets on the second Tuesday of every month. City History: Born on the Soo Line railway, Loretto was founded in 1886. Businesses like dairy mills and meat markets in addition to a general store and bank sprung up quickly, establishing Loretto as a commercial center. The city was officially incorporated in 1940, and since then has boasted town team baseball, keeping the community close. Today, Loretto is home to just under 700 residents.
