Lowry Hill East is named after Thomas Lowry, an original resident and developer of the area. The neighborhood is near Lake Calhoun, and is often referred to as “the Wedge” because of its triangular shape. Due to Thomas Lowry’s public transportation system, the neighborhood began its life in the 1880’s.
