Hamline Midway is a neighborhood in Saint Paul that is situated equal distance from both downtown Minneapolis and downtown Saint Paul. This neighborhood is boarded by University Avenue to the South, the railroad tracks just north of Pierce Butler Route to the North, Lexington Avenue to the East, and Transfer Road to the West. The lightrail system runs along University Avenue making it very convenient to get to either downtown utilizing public transportation. Homes in this neighborhood, most of which were built around the turn of the century, can be found located among several beautiful parks flush with mature trees. Hamline Midway is home to Hamline University, which was the first university in the state of Minnesota and was founded in 1854. This wonderful asset to the neighborhood offers close proximity great collegiate sporting events, as well as access to a world-class education.

Along Snelling and University, there are countless shopping and dining options ranging from the best neighborhood coffee house – Ginkgo Coffee to Black Sea Turkish cuisine. This area has been compared to the Festival of Nations in regard to the countless opportunities to enjoy cuisines from all around the world. For the bibliophile, Midway Used and Rare Books, which has been a neighborhood staple since 1965, would be a point of interest and can be found on the corner of Snelling and University. Just across University Avenue there is a conveniently located large shopping area with stores including Target, Wal-Mart, T.J. Maxx, and more. Other major nearby attractions include the Minnesota State Fair grounds and the upcoming Major League Soccer stadium Allianz Field.
