Central Community Transit provides comprehensive public transportation services to the residents of Renville County. The fleet of seven buses provides rides for everyone from children to seniors.
Renville County consists of five commissioner districts, each with their own representative commissioner on the County Board. This board provides legislative and administrative oversight, deciding on budgets, and helping to make the county a better place for all residents.
Established in 1855, Renville County’s early history was lost due to the Sioux uprisings on 1862. Because of this, the county was not officially organized until 1866. Named after famous pioneer, guide, and translator Joseph Renville, who was an essential asset to the fur traders in the late 1700’s, and friend to settlers and natives alike. Today, Renville County is home to just over 15,000 residents.
