City History

Waseca County was established on February 27th, 1857 by the Minnesota Territorial Legislature, and within a year had been organized into eight townships. An additional four townships would be added over the next 7 years. Once the railroad was introduced to the county, and as agricultural technology continued to advance, the County, which is primarily made up of farmland, thrived. Today, Waseca County is home to just fewer than 20,000 people and provides a wonderful place to work and play.
