The Minnesota Valley Action Council provides public transportation services to the residents of Waseca County through the Waseca County Transportation initiative. These services are available for those who do not have access to reliable transportation and can be reserved at any time.
As the legislative, budgetary, and administrative authority in Waseca County, the five-member Waseca County Board of Commissioners works to provide accessible services to all residents. The board meets the first and third Tuesday of every month.
Waseca County was established on February 27th, 1857 by the Minnesota Territorial Legislature, and within a year had been organized into eight townships. An additional four townships would be added over the next 7 years. Once the railroad was introduced to the county, and as agricultural technology continued to advance, the County, which is primarily made up of farmland, thrived. Today, Waseca County is home to just fewer than 20,000 people and provides a wonderful place to work and play.
