The city of Chanhassen opened the doors of its Recreation Center in 1995, and since then has been providing community members with a plethora of amenities. The residents of Chanhassen are served by two school districts:

Chanhassen began as the one of the first settlements in Carver County. The quiet little town grew extremely slowly until after World War II, at which time the main industry of the area switched from agriculture to a more commercial and industrial endeavors. And during the 1970s the city redeveloped much of its downtown and industrial parks, making it very much what it is today. Now, the once small, quiet town is a thriving suburb of over 20,000 residents.
