City History

Baldwin, Wisconsin was first established as Clarksville in 1871. The name was changed four months later to Baldwin to honor D.A. Baldwin, the president of the West Wisconsin Railroad. Three years later, the community was incorporated into a village to better accommodate the needs of residents. Since that time, Baldwin has grown into a spectacular community of approximately 4,000 residents that is filled with a thriving economy and strong schools.
