The five-member Corcoran City Council consists of the Mayor and four additional councilmembers. This council is responsible for deciding policies and budgets concerning any and all city business. A city administrator is appointed by the council to carry out all policies and ordinances. The Corcoran City Council meets on the second and fourth Thursday of each month.

City History

First settled in 1855, Corcoran was established as a farming community. Within the first several years, a school and several stores were built, and the small farming town continued to grow and thrive. Corcoran was first officially organized as a result of a town meeting in 1858, and since it has remained primarily agricultural, with the addition of several industrial businesses along the way.
