On the second Tuesday of every month, the Woodville Village Board meets to preside over all village business. The Village President and six trustees work together to provide for the best interests of residents, allocating budgets to fund services to increase the general quality-of-life in the village.
Founded in 1870, the community was originally named Kelly's Switch after a nearby mill owner. In 1874 the name was dropped, and the village was renamed after Woodville, Jefferson County, New York.
