Some home sale statistics are available from RMLS for 2010. As expected the number of homes sold is down significantly (13%) from 2009. In 2010, including townhomes (89), 275 homes sold. The previous year 315 total units sold.  Interestingly enough, the average price of all single family homes sold in 2010 was $461,768. This is actually higher than in 2009 when the average sales price was $433,259. However, the price of townhomes, condos, twinhomes decreased from $187,807 in 2009 to $164,718 in 2010. In 2010, there were sales of 7 homes in Chanhassen with sales prices over $1,000,000 compared to 8 sales in 2009. For 2010, 77% of the total home sales had selling prices under $500,000. It appears that average sales prices for 2010 will be higher than for 2009 in many communities. Median sales prices will be available next week. Stay tuned.
