Cleaning Honeycomb Blinds
If you are prepping a home for market and have everything ready, but your dingy, stained honeycomb blinds are making the whole room look tired, you may be able to clean them rather then throwing them out! You'll first want to dust them gently with the brush attachment of your vacuum or use the cool setting on a hair dryer to blow anything in the honeycomb cells out. Then you'll want to do a small spot test to ensure your blinds are color safe and water safe depending on the fabric. If you are satisfied your blinds can handle soap and water, fill a bathtub with warm water to which you have added a few scoops of and oxygenated cleaner or other mild detergent. Place the blinds in the water and gently swish the water over them for a few minutes. Drain the water, refill the tub with cool water to rinse the blinds. Drain the rinse water. Fold the blinds up as though they were drawn open. Tip the blinds on end and squeeze the blinds starting on the top end, working your way to the bottom. Repeat this until water does not run out of the blinds. Replace the damp blinds on the window and allow them to air dry. Hope your blinds come out looking brand new like mine did!
